Personal Information

In my research, I focused on the isoform-specific properties of Bcl11a. Clinical studies of the Dias-Logan syndrome, a disease caused by mutations of Bcl11a, suggest that the clinical spectrum of this disease depend in part on the affected isoforms. To gain novel insights regarding isoform-specific expression and function of Bcl11a in the central nervous system, we developed several molecular tools, including isoform-specific antibodies. These tools open up novel research opportunities and will be useful to further improve the understanding of Bcl11a and its associated disorders. 2025 MD degree at Ulm University (“Characterization of Isoform-Specific Expression and Function of Bcl11a in the Dorsal Telencephalon”, supervisor: Prof. Dr. med.
