To support our research groups of Ulm University and external companies/academic institutions in using our Core Facility LMD, we are looking for a

The Core Facility „Laser Microdissection“ (LMD) is a member of the cross-faculty Center for Translational Imaging MoMAN. This core facility of the Faculty of Medicine under the direction of Prof. Dr. Stefan Britsch has a fully equipped PALM MicroBeam (Zeiss). The system offers a method for the contamination-free separation and collection of cells to be analyzed from tissue samples or cell cultures.

Your tasks:

  • To support research projects, you are confident in cell culture and microscopy (Laser Microdissection) and organize workflows with internal and external partners.
  • You will instruct core facility users in the technology of catapult laser microdissection, sample preparation, further processing and analysis of microdissection.
  • As part of the full service, you will be responsible for sample preparation and processing.
  • You will organize appointment management, ordering and equipment maintenance for the core facility.

Your profile:

  • Completed training as an MTA, BTA or CTA or equivalent training
  • Knowledge of cell culture, PCR, cloning, cultivation and transfection of mammalian cells, isolation and purification of nucleic acids, histological techniques
  • Team orientation and a high sense of responsibility
  • Collegiality and enjoyment of work
  • Good knowledge of English
